Should I be friends with my ex if I still love him. He broke up with me 8 months ago Nd I was devastated ,I still want him to get back in my life and I tried again dew days back Nd He said he can't b more than frnds with me , he doesn't want a relationship now after being in a relationship with me for 6 yrs.I feel I should b frnds with him atleast this way he'll talk to me and I'll not b crying whole day :) What should I do ?

I think its best your distance yourself in order to start moving on from him. He's made it clear that he doesn't want to be more than friends .If he moves on its going to hurt you bad and to avoid that you need to slowly cut ties. Don't worry it'll hurt for a while but it'll be worth it. Work on yourself , I don't know you but I know you're strong enough to handle it. And crying is good , let out all your frustrations. Prioritize yourself and your mental health. I know this may sound immature but I suggest deleting the pictures, his number, anything that reminds you of him , take it away. First step to moving on is detoxing. I hope this helps and I hope you know that even though I'm a stranger I'm with you on this .

As a guy, I somewhat agree w/ the other two responses, more so w/ the 2nd. Look, Its been 8 months girl...Its done as far as He's concerned...IMO, He said" he could only be friends w/you" out of compassion, as to hopefully diminish your pain. Girl, believe me, you dont wanna "settle" here. What you think will be friendship, will actually be (codependency). It will destroy your self respect, make you resentful and keep you in a perpetual state of emotional turmoil. ...You'll get complacent in this depressed state and accept it as normal,thinkin the only way OUT is to covertly devise/ fabricate a plan/scheme to get back w/ him even if to diectly/ indirectly sabotage his future relationships. He'll HATE you for that.....You'll NOW have guilt to deal with..Carry the torch too long can ruin you for future healthy relationships as well. Even when Ive seen this senerio start out positive, it NEVER lasts and end w/ adverse repro's that follow...Your heart will make this impossible..Its goes against everything IT was MADE for..You need to be FREE ....of him...TOTALLY.... ASAP!!!..What about your poor heart? I guess it doesnt deserve another "chance meeting" opportunity to be ful filled...Only HIS does?... I totally get your pain girl.. Even at MY AGE (OMG..LOL) I suffered this "gut punch" lingering style pain 3 months ago when friend zoned, but knew, stayin in this hurt condition (from 47 yrs exp) was gonna get me no where, and will, NO DOUBT, affect ever other area of my life in a negative way...Its better to cry the whole day for another week, and hopefully have a good START.... on closure , than to cry the whole day, the WHOLE TIME your TRYIN....to be just "freinds" with him, and WHEN (not if) he chooses another GF, those tears are gonna stream that much harder.....Im always postin gthis on here BUT, THIS is what worked in MY day..LOL ....Sleepover (if possible)....3-4-5 GFs'....3-4 GALs of CHOCOLATE/neopol icecream... HUGE chocolate fudge CAKE... 2-3 chick flix.(gets the GOOD cheemeecals flowin for NEW LOVE yearning so you'll WANT to get that heart back on the scene to do its stuff)...This is a prescription Ive personally seen have an over night effect!... Dont settle girl... if ya do now... It can become a self defeating habit.....

Hello girl! I hope you’re doing well. I was in the same situation with my ex and believe me I know how you feel but it’s better to not be friends with him. First of all if that happens you will not be able to get over him and you will stay in this situation for a really really long time. Also if you cut every single communication with him there is a big chance for him to miss you and try to be back with you. And if not girl understand that maybe he is not the one...I know 6 years are lots of memories and having great time but maybe he is not for you. You deserve someone who truly loves you for who you are and nothing else.... someone who wants to spend every second of his life with you and believe there are a lot out there who want you.
