I feel robbed of my innocence

My father had anger issues and would lash out repeatedly when I was younger. I remember crying, but eventually, at one point (I'm guessing somewhere around 7 years old) I just stopped crying and became numb to the behavior.

Sometimes I run into parents scolding their 11 or 12-year-olds in stores, not even yelling, about some minor thing that the child thing and the child will be a face full of tears. In those moments I feel particularly robbed of my innocence because they are able to cry so easily over a simple harsh tone. It feels particularly sad in the moment.
