I like to watch some sports. Football most. I’ve noticed things over the yrs about college football & the NFL. As rules changed to protect QBs & WRs starting with Jerry Rice at WR in NFL. Used to you never ran stars over middle. They’d get broke. Didn’t run QBs in NFL for same reason. Well the rule changes helped colleges use less accurate mobile QBs. Mostly 2nd rate schools. Prob is if use hurry up mobile QB it hurts your D. Well LSU & Alabama took over college football BCS. This led to playoffs & pro O, anti D rules. Before that it was a rigged voting system. So that forced those two teams to adjust too. So I’m already hearing people wonder what’s wrong with LSU. They only won cause had so many high level upper class men who left. Same happened with Clemson recently. I hear people say what’s wrong with Oklahoma; & they need a D. If you have high octane fast O, your D will give up lots points. Your O either scores or punts fast. So D always on field. Look at LSU last yr. they were a ground & pound. Last yr they lit it up like no one ever had. So OK will never have great D cause built to light it up in league designed for it. Ever notice Big 12 calls lots of penalties to help all their O’s. At least are fair to all teams. In ACC their zebras calls almost always help their elite teams avoid upsets. For about 10 yrs ACC has one elite team Clemson & bunch duds. Big 12 was same with OK; although Texas has been pretty good PAC 12 has had no one for a while. Once had to earn Natis on field instead of by opinions they haven’t won. Same for Notre Dame. About half of their Natis were gifts. Haven’t earned one in yrs. But are still second best program ever & fun to watch. Big 10 has second best depth at top. Obvi the SEC has most NFL talent & best programs. I’m not sec fan per se; I watch best games. But starting with BCS you finally had to win it on field. Since that first BCS game here are sec teams to win at least one nati I think: Tennessee; LSU; Auburn; Alabama; & Florida. Georgia has come close. Texas A&M has HC whose won one & great program. That’s a lot of high level teams. I’ve seen South Carolina; Miss St, & Ole Miss win big games against great teams out of conference too. So the sec has the best football. I believe Clemson has been the best team the last 5 yrs. Ohio State is great. But it’s hard for them to win two huge games in a row. So the playoffs are tough for them. They see a few good teams in the Big 10; but not as many. The sec battle hardens their teams; but look at the injuries. They often knock out their best QBs & lose a lot of great players to injury. Clemson & OK are great comparison. Clemson is one team league, but wins it all. OK is also one team league; but usually loses first round of playoffs. The teams that were powers but have had issues with new rules & playoffs the most are USC & Nebraska. Both were power houses when I was a kid; but now look like Wake Forest or Kansas. Unless it’s basketball, you never want to look like the Jayhawks.
