At the very most this girl had ADD or ADHD....So what. Half of my bullies in school had adhd, most successful celebrities have adhd...I dont consider it a legitimate disability on par with autism and other spectrum disorders or severe mental illness. So I was living in a residential program where teens live in a house in the community and try to get jobs and get assistance with school and everything. Not surprisingly that program imploded after a few years. But when I was there it was pretty nice, helpful college educated staff would check in on us. This was a very rich county with a lot of resources for disabled people and other minorities like LGBT. When I entered this program I didnt know anybody, I was from another part of the state. I had to make friends in the community from scratch which was hard when social media really got going because everyone just friended everyone they knew at their high school and never bothered to meet anyone new. So I was already swimming up a creek. But this girl in the program shouldn't have been there and it bothers me to this day. She had nothing debilitating wrong with her and she was from this county and literally everyone there under 40 knew this girl. Even my few friends knew who she was. On her social media she was posing with a new crowd of people every post. She looked perfectly normal all the way back to early childhood, from a rich house in a rich county, people always coming and going when I would visit her house. She even had one of the staff drive her to work every day. I didnt get that treatment, I had to rely on the shitty bus system to get to my job and school. Oh and besides working at a daycare she did nothing to become more independent which is what the program was for. She smoked pot with her friends and went to a billion music festivals. What the hell did she need this program for when she was friends with literally everyone at every high school and had a core group of friends of like 500 people. Whenever she was sleeping in her bed there would be three other people in it, thats how extroverted and codependent she was to constantly have ppl around her. I just thought it was wrong, she smoked pot, fucked everything that moved which is fine I dont care about that but it just irked me to no end that I had close to nothing and thats why I was using the program and she was there just because she didn't want a normal landlord situation I guess? And staff drove her to work every day when she had a million friends always at her side.
